Social Media; A Great Weapon The Nigeria we find ourselves today call for immediate and impactful show of concern from the youth who are the supposed leaders of tomorrow which is yet to come. Yes! I know that the country is not what we wished it to be, but our show of "I don't care attitude" (normal naija way) has actually caused us more harm than good. We place our strength on things that are less important to the progress of the the country of our dream. It was just of recent that it dawned on me that our country is actually heading for a doom if the youth we have today are actually the ones to take over the mantle of the political arena of tomorrow. I smell doom worse than what we face now. Kobe Bryant died of recent and the whole internet went agog, whereas Boko haram murdered some innocent Nigerians in cold blood recently but it did not trend on twitter or posted on Instagram nor Facebook. The hypocrisy practised by this country is in the high side, to the e...

Monday Motivation Never Look Down on Yourself!!! Life has not given us more luxuries of having people hype us that much. Everyone fights for himself, so worry not if you have no cheerleader, or if you only have people who puts you down. Selfishness runs in the blood of virtually every human being who still lives; everyone puts themselves first because we are all competitive in nature. So, if you are finding it hard to push yourself then you need this. We can be our own biggest motivators when we feel happy and are content with how things are going. But we can also be our own biggest critics. We notice everything about ourselves that is changing, every crack and crevice. My point is that no matter how you're feeling at certain stages in life, one day, you'll be sitting on the couch as a 30-year-old, thinking back to your junior high self and realizing it wasn't that bad. I should have just loved myself rather than beating myself up about everything. One day you...

Should men put on socks with their native attire? Today I am taking a detour from the normal writings to fashion. Today I actually want to talk about something most men are getting wrong especially when it comes to putting on  socks on their shoes with their native attire. The ladies can also read through for the benefit of their brothers, boyfriend or husband. When I see people put on socks or laced shoes with their native, mehn it is often a turn off for me. Looking good is not costly most times, combining your outfit is also of essence. I know some persons who even have the money but still get their fashion style wrong so most times it is not about the money, it is just about knowing the right thing to do. So let's get down to it. Gone are the days when people wear native with the length of the trouser just beneath their footwear or sweeping the floor. The new style is  to wear native with trouser length around the ankles. This makes you to  look neat and smar...

What are you Planting? The act of planting is applicable to every man, not necessarily the farmers alone. The common parlance of "what you sow, You shall reap" is not only found in the holy books but it is a practical principle of life. At every stage of life, each and everyone of us plants something, but the question now is; what are you planting? The act of planting can actually be viewed from two perspectives, namely: planting in self and planting in others. Planting in self can be seen from the perspective of what you feed your inner man with daily, what you teach yourself to become daily is actually of a great concern. Do you feed yourself with the positives or the negatives? Are you the type who thinks that doing it the right way is the slow way and wish to go the wrong way instead? What you plant in yourself is actually what you end up becoming. The second aspect of planting is planting in other people. This has to do with the kind of seed you are sowing or p...

TURN YOUR LEMON TO LEMONADE Before the birth of fruit juice, there has been in existence the fruit itself. Every fruit juice in circulation today has it's source from a particular fruit. This is true of any great personality you see today. Situations are bound to go SOUTH, turn upside down, become unbearable, etc. But out of every bad situation , there is always another side to it. It took someone years to know that fruit juice can be gotten from juice, but it should not take you years to know that " in the bad there is always the good".  Life throws some ugly things at us just to know if we would be capable or up to the task we are about to handle. That is why we see that for people who stands in the face of trial and overcame, their story is always different at last. There is no bad situation or better still let me say there are bad situations which can become good when turned inside out. What situation are you in now which seems unpleasant? Do k...

Religion Human race has existed for son long a time in the world but has failed to achieve unity, love, harmony, etc., as these are seen merely as nightmares. Humans have lived together long enough to have attained some level of understanding of how human existence work. It played out that in the beginning when there was one voice and humans agreed to build the Tower of Babel, it was recorded as success to a point in the Bible. Why has everything changed for on what it was to what it is now? It is if not doubt that conflict and wars have been part of human existence from the beginning, but there is one factor that has actively divided us the more than it has united us, and that is simply RELIGION. Note that religion in itself is not bad, but those who practise it actually turned it to something else. Just like the saying that "politics is not a dirty game but those who play politics makes it dirty". Nigeria as a country is in this state of uncertainty and confusi...

MY LANGUAGE; MY PRIDE... Nigeria is a country with diverse cultures and traditions; each tribe with its own unique language and way of life makes Nigeria a unique nation. Language is one of the things that make us unique in our own way, which has made Nigeria stand out among many African nations because of the beauty in our cultures and traditions though these diverse languages are not being cherished or appreciated by the owners. Our heritage is being eroded day after day due to our negligence. I am a Yoruba boy from Kwara state who loves his language so much; I was Yoruba, I am Yoruba and will forever be Yoruba. Though kwara is under the North Central geo-political zone in Nigeria but it is basically dominated by Yorubas. It is an unarguable fact that many Nigerians finds it difficult to speak their native language, basically because we have all being colonised and we continue to colonise ourselves. It is generally believed that you must be fluent in English, but why can...
CAN ANYTHING GOOD ACTUALLY COME OUT BEING FAKE? Have you noticed how many lives beingv wasted daily just because they want to live big at the expense of their dignity and value? Hypocrisy is a cankerworm that has eaten deep into our individual lives and we have practically avoided the topic thereby making us want to live one kind fake life that we cannot be able to measure up to. Now I know some persons are thinking that "what is this one talking about now", there is an adage in Yoruba that says "two persons don't loose lies at the same time, if the one being lied to does not know, the one lieing would surely know". Why live fake when you can create the best version of yourself who people can look up to? Why must you live in debt because you want to meet someone's standard? Does the person's standard determines anything in your life? Your life should be more important to you more than any other thing. Many average people eat away their destiny i...

EXPERIENCE: THE BEST TEACHER  "Experience is the best  teacher", this is a parlance that has kept many people in check. Believe me or not, this parlance is always used in the negative and not positive. When someone tells you that experience is the best  teacher, most times it is associated to you making mistakes before you learn, and not you getting it right most times. People can actually argue it that it can be in the positive too, but in this part of the country and as believed by many, it is associated to mistakes that you make. But wait! Have you ever asked yourself this simple question? Must you make a mistake before you learn? Can't you learn without making a mistake? Or must other people make mistakes before you learn?  I have seen that because of this, many people keep making mistakes and claiming that they are actually learning, but will you keep making mistakes before you learn, must you have bruises before your life become straightened?  If ...

GIVING: THE WORKING PRINCIPLE     Giving is a way through which we all can change the world; It is a form of generosity where you expect nothing in return. We must know that giving is not limited to material things, though this is what we all vibe about. I grew up not being a giver, because I never saw myself as one. I always want to have all to myself thinking life is about individuality. Have you ever been in a situation where all you think about is just YOURSELF? I remember days when I have what I needed but I would still want more and when I see someone who has what I don't have, that "I need all for myself spirit" will still take over me and I will keep wishing it can just be mine. It got to a time when I discovered that the life we live itself is a gift which no man can pay for, so it is important to always know that the best you can ever be to your fellow man is to be a giver, because the hallmark of living is giving. Giving is not limited to material t...

TRADING SEX The educational sector of our country has overtime enjoyed its own fair share of gracing the front pages of the tabloids and also featuring in the headlines of our television and radio news. Nigeria higher institutions of learning are not being praised for the outstanding impartation of knowledge by the tutors, but has instead enjoyed prominence on our tabloids and TV screens due to the immoral acts peddled by lecturers of these higher institutions of learning. The universities, Polytechnics, Monotechnics and even secondary schools have been plagued with sexual demands made by lecturers and teachers, so as to award good grades to their students, either merited or not. Warming the beds of male and female lecturers by students of higher institutions of learning are not seen as absurd any longer but has become the order of the day in most of our schools. Lecturers in most of these institutions have moved from their core duty of knowledge impartation to sexually harassin...

MY NIGERIA ROAD EXPERIENCE When the thought of travelling back to Jos, Plateau state came to my mind, I was like "must I go back to this place?" Why did I felt bothered you may ask? Why won't I be bothered when I know that the road I am to travel through should be anybody's worst nightmare but sorry it was my reality. I am always baffled when I think of travelling through Nigeria roads, I don't know if you have noticed that it is only in Nigeria that you travel within a state and it looks as if you are travelling between countries. Oh! Okay this was how it all went down. I started my journey from Ilorin at about some minutes after 8 in the morning. I was already in Jebba which is the boundary of Kwara and Niger state around 10am but this is the worst part of my story because I spent nothing less than seven (7) hours travelling within the almighty Niger state. Why did I call it "Almighty" you may ask; this is a state characterised by large expa...

Will your choice of yesterday favour your today? Humans are at liberty to choose whatever they want in life, we choose the kind of life we want to live, the choice of car, the choice of wife, etc. Our choices as humans are limitless but most times are limited by some factors like family, finance, knowledge, to mention just a few. The choices we make are based on some circumstances; the choices we make can either be good or bad but the result is what determines if our choices are good or bad. Many people make choices based on what they want and not what they need. Your want might not be what you need and the choices made on wants do not satisfy and likewise are mostly ephemeral and for a short while. Life leaves us with no choice but to choose what we really need at every point in time in our lives. Yes I know you have made some wrong choices in years past or even some days past; but what would you achieve by dwelling on your wrong choices (mistakes) and being kept on the sam...

NEW YEAR RESOLUTION SAGA Happy new year guys and welcome to another year to make new year resolutions which I don't know if you would achieve or not. Now I am not being pessimistic but it is actually what has happened over and over again to 'ME' and even 'YOU' if only we wouldn't lie. Now let's pedal back a little and think about what we planned in  2019 and never achieved or the one achieved already. How did you measure your achievements in 2019? What did you do to achieve the things you achieved? Why did you fail in your plans? Are you really ready for another new year? Now if you can give answers to the above noted questions; 2020 should be better than 2019, because you should have learnt one thing or the other. I have learnt to start early, I have learnt to stick to my plans come what may once the plan is actually the right one for me. Don't just be a planner, always be a doer, because no one appreciates a planner but a doer and an achieve...
